At War and Peace
Hello you lovely people. I do hope you are keeping fit and healthy in these difficult times.
I'm pleased to present two Drabbles, or, if you prefer, a Drabble in two parts.
Are the dark gods responsible for the fate of mankind?
Or will the love of our revered gods save us from self-destruction?
AT WAR
I espied my feeble subjects far below.
Looking through the mists of time, little had changed as man continued his relentless persecution. From the beginning, they had sought to conquer and rule. Countless innocents had died. Men, women, even babies had been sacrificed on the altar of eternal power.
And now my son has grown too powerful, too ambitious. If the God of War prevails, Earth will slowly die, and the power of the gods will fade into darkness.
“I will never allow that to happen.”
I screamed, and the heavens shook.
“All they need is love.”
AT PEACE
Holding hands, we stood spellbound as we watched the stars way above in the heavenly black. The bright sparkles appeared to be looking down on us as if the majestic gods were riding their chariots across the universe.
As I looked into her orbs of wonderment, I shuddered. Her hand tightened on mine as I sunk into her smile.
The gods may rule above but the love we share is beyond their understanding.
I am at peace with myself and my world and I need nothing more to be complete.
For the best things in life I have already found.
EPILOGUE
Our world is in chaos at the moment and we can only look on, helpless, as the numbers of dying are growing with every day that passes. Currently, there is no antidote to the virus. What or who caused the outbreak of Covid19 is unknown yet many contagion specialists are only looking in one direction.
Is this a type of war to destroy the economy of all countries across the globe, bar one? And could a single spark ignite the flames of hell and turn Earth into a trading war, or worse, destroyed by military action?
Or will mankind forgive and send love to those considered responsible for the pandemic?
War or love?
It's your choice.
The End
