Banana Pyjamas - A Drabble by Rick Haynes

I found myself standing alongside the fruit and veg in the local supermarket.

How did I arrive?

Was I dreaming?

Pinching my hands was completely pointless.

I closed my eyes but nothing changed.

Goosebumps appeared all over my body.

I asked myself why supermarkets were so cold.

I tried to put my hands in my pockets but couldn’t find them.

I could see, but my senses were betraying me.

I walked past the checkout and the alarm sounded.

“Sir! Walking around half-naked is one thing but if that’s a banana in your pyjamas then you’ll have to pay for it.”
