Father’s Approval by Rick Haynes
A Drabble inspired by Romeo and Juliette
The day dragged on for Romeo. Even his brother had more fun than he.
His eyes misted over, his heart thumped loudly.
Was she real?
He walked forward and stopped.
She had turned her back and was flirting with Paris. Romeo thought hard and carefully made his plans.
He walked to Juliette’s house and threw a stone at her window. Romeo waited for her to open the door. He held out his arms and Juliette responded, their kiss long and passionate.
He proposed.
She accepted.
Romeo left to face his father.
“Are you mad? You’re only sixteen.” David Beckham said.
